Number 1: Chris Brown is an abusive, violent man. I realize it’s been a few years since he beat Rihanna. But still. He beat her mercilessly. Tone down the applause and hero worship, especially at an awards show. It just looks classless and sends a message to young girls and guys that domestic violence is okay as long as you’re good-looking.
Number 2: I fucking hate Lil Wayne. He is not the best rapper alive. Nor will he ever be the best rapper alive. If you disagree, you have my pity.
Number 3: Adele is awesome.
Number 4: Taylor Swift writes very catchy songs, but she can’t sing. She has had maybe one or two live performances that weren’t terrible. Not only that, but how many freaking songs can she write about boys? Taylor, you’re a great role model most of the time. But you need to teach girls that boys are not everything. Girls don’t need a boyfriend to have good self-esteem and personal value. Besides, eventually you have to stop and think, With all these failed relationships I’ve had, it is possible that I might have been the problem, at least in some of them. We’re all thinking it.
Number 5: The Grammys, like many other award shows, are a bit of a joke. If you like to watch them, that’s great. But I hope that no one takes them that seriously.
Addendum to Number 1: If you are a teenage girl or young woman and you think what Chris Brown did to Rihanna was okay because he’s “hot”, and you proceed to tweet that he can beat you anytime, GO TO A CLINIC AND HAVE YOUR TUBES TIED. I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE OF YOU ON THIS PLANET. All hope might be lost for you, but I will not have you polluting future generations even more than they already will be.
